Dr. Ananya Tiwari is an Assistant Professor of Developmental Sciences at Texas A&M University and heads the Action on Belonging, Learning and Evaluation (ABLE) Lab. She is the co-founder of SwaTaleem Foundation, a nonprofit advancing gender equity in education. Her research spans educational psychology, evaluation, and cross-cultural studies, with a focus on sense of belonging among marginalized youth. Her work examined gender inequality in India’s education system and was awarded best dissertation both at American Education Research Association Division E and South Asia SIG at Comparative and International Education Society. She has received funding from the Spencer Foundation, Ford Foundation, Google and others. A strong advocate for research-to-practice translation, Dr. Tiwari’s work has been recognized by the UN and Google, and she has represented her nonprofit at UNESCO and the United Nations General Assembly.
